"Snatched Technique" with SA'DIYYA -
​9:00 am Saturday March 29, 2025
Get your Belly Dance technique looking SNATCHED with the guidance of Sa'diyya in this 1.5 hour long workshop appropriate for mixed levels of students.  Sa'diyya will lead you through several technique drills which will focus on sharp and precise movements and soft and fluid transitions.  You will learn which muscles to engage in order to master and refine your Belly Dance technique.  Bring a sweat towel and water.

“Introduction to ‘90’s Lebanese Style Choreography“ with RALUCA -

Focusing on action in the movement, pathways and levels performed in the dance. There will be an extra focus on technique, energy and space as well as incorporating the the use of a prop. It is required for attendees to bring a veil.

“Tribal Fusion“ with FARASHA AZAD - 
​1:15 pm Saturday March 29, 2025
This class will begin with warm up drills systematically working on precise isolation movements and introducing the Zaara Format of layering movements together with various arm patterns. Two specific arm patterns will be taught which will then be featured in the original choreography by Farasha to the music: “Caravan”. Please bring a veil and an elastic headband to this workshop.

“Raks Al Kawliya" with GITANE -

The Kawliya are the Romani people of Iraq. A dance style that is in danger of becoming extinct in its earthy form. As modern influences evolve this dance, its subtlety and passion are taking a back seat for acrobatics and stage drama. In this class we will concentrate on the Iraqi Kawliya people's influence on this dance style. It begins with a discussion of Iraq and the Kawliya (Romani) people. This workshop will focus on the basic steps, body technique, proper hair suspension and the Rubaa’ rhythm. Wear supportive footwear, a hip scarf and your passion for dance.

Teacher Biographies

​SA'DIYYA
Sa’diyya has more than two decades of teaching Belly Dance to students of all ages, sizes, genders, ethnicities, races and religions with a variety of skill levels and different personal goals. Some of Sa’diyya’s core teaching principles include first and foremost bringing joy, practicing correct dance technique and giving students honest and caring feedback, incorporating proper warm ups and cool down stretches, and to share cultural, historical and musical information so students of all levels understand to origins and modern context of the dances taught. She has won more than 20 national and international awards for her solo and troupe performances, including 2011 Belly Dancer of the Universe. In November of 2012 she won the prestigious online reality series competition, “Project Belly Dance - America's Next Top Belly Dancer,” produced by Cheeky Girl Productions.  And in the Summer of 2014, she completed a highly successful month-long headlining tour of South East Asia. Her instructional videos have sold all over the world including America, Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Sa'diyya's charismatic, energetic and culturally authentic performances and her engaging teaching style have made her a popular artist in the world of Raks Sharqi.

RALUCA
Raluca, an award-winning international dance performer, choreographer, and cultural dance entertainer specializes in Classic Bellydance and folkloric dances of the Middle East and North Africa. Raluca can often be seen in her performances radiating with joy using a variety of props like the veil, wings, swords, fire, cane and much more She gained the admiration of her audiences through her mesmerizing, passionate dances that transports everyone into a world of Arabian mystery.

FARASHA AZAD
Farasha Azad began her dance training at age 14 studying Ballet, Modern, and Jazz dance. Joining Milwaukee Ballet at age 16, she continued her career in dance. At age 22 she became director of her own dance company, called Amadeus Dance Company teaching, directing, choreographing, and performing for 20 years. In Texas, since 2004, she has studied belly dance with many teachers including, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Heather Stants, Isis, and Ariellah, among many others. From her extensive training she has developed her own fusion style of belly dance and has created the Zaara Format. She is always learning and developing new choreographies mixing many different styles. She performs regularly with her dance company Zaara Belly Dance Fusion throughout the year. She has been dancing, choreographing, teaching, and performing for over 50 years.

GITANE
Gitane began her studies in Folkloric Middle Eastern Dance in 1994. Since 1998, she has been a passionate student of dance and has studied with popular instructors specializing in Turkish Rom, Flamenco, North African, Ruska and Egyptian. Beginning, early 2020, she began and continues intense studies with instructors who specialize solely in Raks al Kawliya and other dances of Southern Iraq. She is the director of Indigo Rose Belly Dancing, founded in 2003. She currently teaches Iraqi Dance online and Belly Dance Basics at The LINK Event and Recreation Center in Richland Hills, TX.

DALIDA
Dalida has been teaching Belly Dance for more than 20 years. Her strong Egyptian style and passion to teach has been appreciated around the world at many dance festivals. Dalida has organized many local events in DFW and has invited international teachers to be part of it. Lately Dalida has mentored many dancers in USA and abroad in-person and online. MAGDELENA
Magdelena Fusaro is a belly dance instructor, performer, and choreographer. She danced professionally for over 4 decades in Night clubs and Restaurants throughout Dallas, New York City, and the Midwest. Magdelena is the director of Classic Raqs (Al’Raqs Al’Kilasikiu). She also founded the Dallas-based award-winning professional belly dance troupe Na’Di el Raks. She began her studies in Middle Eastern dance in the mid-’80s in New York City and has never looked back. Her classes are fun, sassy, and challenging. Her Move Studio class is focused on belly dance technique and skill building.

NYMERIA
​Nymeria began dancing at a young age taking ballet, tap, and jazz classes through a local organization. She also played several sports but focused mainly on gymnastics for about 10 years. Shortly thereafter she started performing and competing with her high school dance team and found the camaraderie with her teammates and the thrill of performing to be a fantastic experience. Since then she has studied many other forms of dance including: modern, latin, acro, lyrical, bhangra, and folkloric. In the spring of 2007, on a journey to find a new dance outlet, she attended a dance festival and took a workshop with Tribal Evolution. It was there she found herself drawn to the exotic beauty and grace of tribal belly dance and this wonderful group of friends she now calls family. In 2008 she became a member of Tribal Evolution, and promoted to a principal dancer in 2009. In December 2012, she was honored to become the new Director of the Tribal Evolution family. In 2015 she received her Fat Chance Belly Dance/American Tribal Style General Skills Classic and Modern Certifications. During her time with Tribal Evolution, she has been the costume mama, seamstress, photo cataloger, a choreographer, prop maker, website designer, a teacher, and has studied with many inspirational teachers and performers including Sera Solstic, Zoe Jakes, Kami Liddle, Rachel Brice, Jill Parker, Silvia Salamanca, Suhaila Salimpour, Karim Nagi, Megha Gavin and Carolena Nericcio.

Meet Nailah Noor, a dynamic individual whose passion for Belly Dance was ignited at a young age when her mother began attending classes and performing. She swiftly developed a love for MENATH music and dance, mesmerized by the power of the artists on stage. Beyond belly dance, she has immersed herself in the worlds of bachata, salsa, and Indian dance styles, embracing the diversity of global movement forms. Fueling her journey is a deep-seated commitment to connecting people with their bodies and inner confidence. In Nailah, you encounter a versatile artist, all in service of creating spaces—both physical and emotional—where individuals can explore, express, and empower themselves through the transformative magic of movement.
